Productivity for Scientists blog by Olga Degtyareva is 5 years old!My Productivity for Scientists blog at olgadegtyareva.com turned 5 years old!!!

5 years ago, on the 4th of October 2010 I have published my first ever blog post that I titled “Hot to become more productive at your work place”. I did it imperfectly. And then kept adding a blog post or a video aiming to update my blog every single week. Sometimes I only managed to update it every two weeks, sometimes it was only once a month, but I kept at it, and despite of being busy and having a lot of things on my plate, I kept putting the content out.

Now 5 years later, it has 175 published blog posts, 167 comments, and about 1000 VISITORS per month!

When I started this blog I was working full time at a University as a Research Fellow and I was a mom of 2 young children (3 and almost 2 years old). And although I was very busy, I thought it would be a good idea to start sharing the amazing productivity techniques that I have been discovering that year that allowed me to make 2010 such a successful year in my research career: I won an international prize for my contributions into the area of my research, I gave a key note lecture at an international conference because of this, I published single-authored extensive review in my area of research, and I was a co-author of several high-profile publications that came out in 2011.

Little did I know that this activity will eventually lead me to be a founder and director of a successful and growing company Productivity for Scientists Ltd that serves hundreds of scientists around the world.

I invite you to celebrate with me and I am sharing with you today the 4 blog posts that I have published back in October 2010. They are as relevant today as they were back in 2010 and they include some of my most favourite posts from my blog (Go complaint-free… and Looking through the rose-tinted glasses).

Here they are:

Looking through rose-tinted glasses (published 25th of October 2010)
Go complaint-free and get an instant increase in productivity (published 18th of October 2010)
How to define your task and manifest progress in your work (published 11th of October 2010)
How to become more productive at your work place (published 4th of October 2010)

Congratulations Olga for 5 years milestone 😀 Amazing achievement! Thank you so much for keeping up with it. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t meet your blog. I love your gentle, empathetic approach in your unique way. Reassuring, pleasant vibes. No shaming, no forcing. It’s one in a million. It’s more effective for me to do an action from being inspired rather than out of fear or when I try to push myself.

I love keeping up with your posts. My favourite technique I learnt from your blog is probably this: gratitude & showing up fully fast track me to my goal. I love the concept of gamifying it.

Keep your unique briliance shining bright. I saw your vids from now way back to 2010. You are getting better & better at what you love doing 🙂
