How things outside work affect our productivity at work

Are there some things happening outside your work that keep distracting and worrying you? Is there something that is not going well in your life and it keeps splattering your attention and affecting how you show up at work? This can be something in your relationships, your health situation, any money problems you might be experiencing, any issues you might be having as a parent or in the community activities you might be involved.

I know it all too well that the problems outside work really affect our productivity at work, slow us down in our projects or sometimes even paralyse us. And I hear it again and again from scientists I get to talk to: they come to work and it sometimes takes them up to 2 hours to just be able to focus on work! This is because the worries of what is not going well outside work take over our attention and prevent us from working effectively on our projects.

Watch the video above and check in with yourself to see if anything is going on in your life that might be distracting and worrying you and affecting your productivity at work. In this video I also provide inspiration and show you what is possible for you if you do get in charge of the problems outside your work and decide to tackle them.

In the comments below please share with me your a-ha!-moment from this video!

One of the things that really works is clearing my head with meditation, breathing, yoga or taking a physical break by taking a walk or exercising = then coming back. Thank you Olga!
