The ongoing United States federal government shutdown has affected many of our fellow scientists in the States and around the world. Labs are closed, pay checks are stopped and travels are being canceled. My thoughts are with you, if you or your friends are affected.

The uncertaity of this or any other situation has a clear and negative effect on our work: we feel the fear of uncertainty, the worry and anxiety distract us from doing any work, sometimes we even think: what’s the point? In the above video I talk about how to deal with uncertainty. This is Part 3 of the series that I have been presenting to you on What To Do When A Disaster Strikes. I offer a technique that will help you to focus and get some work done that needs to be done now. Watch it now.

And make sure to watch it to the end as I also offer an awesome technique to help you with your proposal or application writing if you feel stuck with it!
